The cops first told that Syed Geelani’s sound first agreed to early burial for avoiding law and order related problems but later, changed his mind.
On Thursday, A 92-year-old aged Syed Geelani, a separatist’s funeral video has been posted on social media by the Jammu And Kashmir Police.
The videos were released with the rumours that he was buried without the mandatory ablution and shrouding as the police forcefully took away the body from the family and Mr Geelani was buried before dawn where due to it the family couldn’t perform the rites.
Earlier, former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and Hurriyat leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq criticised the government for the awful treatment of Mr Geelani’s body where, Ms Mufti said after seeing the video of Mr Geelani’s family, to which she said it was a maltreated and desecrated treatment with the body. The PDP Cheif said that the political revenge could not be taken by a dead man as the wish of the man who is about to hang is respected. Mr Farooq shows grief about the ill-treatment which has been done with the body.
For the past four days, an uneasiness has been prevailing where the restrictions have even been lifted from most parts of Kashmir but The police have said that mobile internet would remain suspended in Srinagar till tomorrow.
