Amazon Prime Video has unveiled the full trailer for its upcoming series Cross, featuring Aldis Hodge as detective and forensic psychologist Alex Cross. Based on James Patterson’s novels, the series follows Cross as he pursues a killer who has set his sights on him.
Cross is set to premiere on Prime Video on November 14, offering viewers the entire first season of eight episodes. Notably, the series has already been renewed for a second season. The cast also includes Isaiah Mustafa, Juanita Jennings, Alona Tal, Samantha Walkes, Caleb Elijah, Melody Hurd, Jennifer Wigmore, Eloise Mumford, and Ryan Eggold.
Ben Watkins developed the series for television and serves as the showrunner and executive producer through his Blue Monday Productions banner. The executive production team also includes Sam Ernst, Jim Dunn, and Craig Siebels, alongside Patterson and others from James Patterson Entertainment. The project is produced by Amazon MGM Studios, CBS Studios, and Skydance Television.
Should Cross resonate with audiences, it would join the ranks of successful Amazon adaptations of long-running novel characters, such as Reacher and Bosch. The latter’s success has led to a spinoff series, Bosch: Legacy, and another featuring Maggie Q as cold case detective Renée Ballard is also in development.
