Maxie Solters, a well-regarded publicist, writer, actor, and producer, has passed away unexpectedly at the age of 37. The cause of her death has not been disclosed.
Born in 1987 and raised in Sherman Oaks, California, Solters graduated from the University of Southern California with a degree in Theatre. She began her career in film and television casting and was also a coordinator for One Billion Rising, a nonprofit organization dedicated to ending violence against women and gender-based violence. Solters was involved in various productions, including creating, producing, and starring in her own comedy web series.
In 2012, Solters continued her family’s legacy in public relations, joining Scoop Marketing. Her client roster included notable organizations such as the Kia Forum, the Hollywood Bowl, and Music Forward. In addition, she was actively involved in V-Day International and Women’s Rights.
Solters is survived by her father, Larry, and his partner, Carol Greenhut; her mother, Debra Graff; her aunt, Susan Reynolds; her cousin, Jonah Reynolds; her longtime partner, Dim Dobrin; and her dog, Pookie.
A celebration of her life is being planned, and the family has requested that donations in Maxie’s memory be made to One Billion Rising. This campaign, launched on Valentine’s Day 2012, aims to combat violence against women, highlighting the alarming statistic that one in three women globally will face physical violence or sexual assault during her lifetime.
