Japanese boy band One or Eight has officially launched with their new single “Don’t Tell Nobody,” accompanied by a vibrant music video.

The track, blending hip-hop and pop elements, was written and produced by Ryan Tedder of OneRepublic and Dave Stewart, with a rap segment crafted by Lucien Parker. This single marks the introduction of the eight-member group: Mizuki, Neo, Reia, Ryota, Souma, Takeru, Tsubasa, and Yuga. The band’s name, inspired by a Japanese phrase meaning “all or nothing,” reflects their tagline, “bet on yourself.”

The Tokyo-based group first gained attention in June with their performance video for “Kawasaki,” which quickly amassed six million views within five days and has since reached 10 million. That track, produced by DJ Smallz 732, Gent!, Bangs, and Xansei, also featured a rap by Parker.

One or Eight is supported by Japanese entertainment powerhouse Avex in collaboration with Brandon Silverstein’s S10. Takeya Ino, president of labels at Avex Japan, stated, “At Avex, we embrace challenges and respect U.S. music culture. Our aim is to embody the ‘all or nothing’ spirit and make One or Eight’s music resonate globally.”

Naoki Osada, CEO of Avex USA, expressed enthusiasm about the band’s debut, calling it a unique collaboration that merges musical, cultural, and innovative elements from both U.S. and Japanese branches of Avex. “We’re excited to launch One or Eight as a groundbreaking model to elevate Japanese music on a global scale.”

Dave Stewart praised the band, saying, “I loved working with them! They have incredible vocals and are highly versatile. A very talented group.”
