Co-written by Gaga, Michael Polansky, Andrew Watt, and Cirkut—who also produced the track—“Disease” showcases Gaga’s signature upbeat style. In the song, she sings, “I could play the doctor / I can cure your disease,” capturing a playful yet deep exploration of love and healing.
In an interview with Vogue, Gaga shared her excitement for the new album, stating, “I feel like this new album, in a lot of ways, is about that time but from a place of happiness instead of misery.” This hints at a refreshing shift in her musical narrative.
What’s Next for Gaga
This single arrives on the heels of Gaga’s performance in “Joker: Folie à Deux,” a film that received mixed reviews and struggled at the box office. Despite that, she released a surprise companion album titled “Harlequin,” which features classic American songs alongside a couple of original tracks. This project debuted at No. 20 on the Billboard 200, showcasing her versatility as an artist.
Additionally, her collaboration with Bruno Mars, “Die With a Smile,” continues to shine, remaining one of the longest-running No. 1s on the Billboard Global 200 singles chart this year.

Gaga’s last full-length album, “Chromatica,” released in 2020, marked her sixth No. 1 album on the Billboard 200.
