Graeme Fish of Moose Jaw, Sask., and Ted-Jan Bloemen of Calgary are two Canadian skaters competing for a position on the Olympic podium. They will participate in the first and sixth pairings, respectively, when competition begins.
Bloemen and Fish, both Canadian skaters, are hoping to push each other to the top of the podium.

Fish, 24, overcame a COVID-19 infection that forced him to miss two World Cup events coming up to the last-chance Olympic qualifiers in late December. Those activities were cancelled due to the Omicron surge.
The young skater recovered completely and was named to the Olympic squad for Beijing, where he will compete for the first time.
Bloemen, 35, will compete in the 2022 Winter Olympics after winning gold in the 10,000m at the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, where he also took silver in the 5,000m.
