X-Men star James McAvoy is okay not playing the job of Professor X again, yet he will not preclude returning sometime in the future. McAvoy joined the cast of the X-Men franchise in 2011 with X-Men: First Class, playing a more youthful variant of Charles Xavier, a job made renowned by Patrick Stewart in the past films. McAvoy would reprise his part in 2014’s X-Men: Days of Future Past, 2016’s X-Men Apocalypse, and 2019’s Dark Phoenix, as well as a non-speaking appearance in Deadpool 2.
McAvoy however is by all accounts finished with the X-Men franchise and is totally fine letting the job go to another actor. In an interview with Collider, McAvoy touched on how, while there was even more he needed to explore with Charles Xavier, he thinks he had a decent gone for it. He is not ruling out returning by any means, in any case, leaving the entryway open that perhaps later on he could return. McAvoy said:
“I feel like, better believe it. I feel like I had the opportunity to explore, not everything I needed to explore, on the grounds that there’s in every case more, certainly, yet I had the chance to explore a ton of Professor X, and I feel very satisfied with what I escaped him as a performer. It’s not to say that you absolutely never need to, you never need to return, and you never need to rehash it, and all that kind of stuff. You never say never, as I trust James Bond once said. Yet, I’m not chomping at the piece. I’m not going to be gutted and frantically tragic in the event that it never happens again.”
Dissimilar to Hulk star Eric Bana, McAvoy has not precluded his re-visitation of the X-Men franchise. However following nine years of playing Professor X, it is justifiable that the actor would not have any desire to be secured to the franchise for some time and get an opportunity to explore a wide assortment of jobs in various types. The eventual fate of the X-Men remains uncertain, and with a multiverse now at Marvel’s disposal, there is consistently an entryway open for McAvoy to get back to the job of Professor X in a later task on the off chance that he and Marvel decided to.
