Born on December 16, 1988, Murati has a distinguished educational background. She began her studies at the Pearson United World College of the Pacific in Canada at the age of 16, where she earned a scholarship. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from Colby College and a Bachelor of Engineering from the Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth College.

Career Journey

Murati’s professional journey began as a Summer Analyst intern at Goldman Sachs. She then served as an Advanced Concepts Engineer at Zodiac Aerospace before taking on the role of Senior Product Manager at Tesla under Elon Musk. In 2018, she joined OpenAI as the Vice President of Applied AI & Partnerships. Her expertise and leadership led to her promotion to CTO, a role she held for over two years. During her time at OpenAI, Murati played a pivotal role in product development, including the launch of GPT-4.
