Caitlin Clark has proven her mettle throughout an extraordinary rookie season, dispelling any doubts about her ability to meet the monumental expectations set during her historic NCAA career at Iowa. Now playing for the Indiana Fever, she has established herself as a formidable force, breaking WNBA records with 337 assists and 769 points.

As the Fever heads into the playoffs as the No. 6 seed, Clark is poised to claim the title of WNBA Rookie of the Year. Her remarkable trajectory has also translated into the memorabilia market, where she previously set a record for the highest sale of any WNBA card when her 2024 Panini Instant WNBA Blue Viper 1/1 Autograph card sold for nearly $25,000 back in May.

On Thursday night, following a season-ending game against the Washington Mystics that attracted a record crowd of 20,711, Clark’s card made headlines again. Her Blue Viper 1/1 Autograph card fetched an astonishing $84,000 at a Fanatics Premier auction, setting a new record for any Clark or WNBA card sold publicly. This particular card had initially sold for $10,000 shortly after its release as part of Panini’s Instant Draft Night Series.

The sale eclipses the previous record of $78,000 for her 2022 Bowman University Superfractor autograph card, which features Clark in her Hawkeyes uniform. Clark’s growing prominence in the card market is evident, as she ranked as the fourth most-graded professional basketball player by PSA in May, following notable names like Victor Wembanyama, LeBron James, and Michael Jordan.

While Clark’s record sale remains lower than those of many male counterparts—such as Cade Cunningham’s rookie 1/1 Logoman card, which sold for over $200,000—she is steadily closing the gap in the sports card market. Notably, the only female athlete with a card that has sold for more than Clark’s is Serena Williams, who holds the record for the highest sales in women’s sports memorabilia.
