The Campbell Soup Company, a cornerstone of American cuisine for 155 years, is set to undergo a significant rebranding, changing its name to “The Campbell’s Company.” This move, announced by CEO Mark Clouse, aims to better represent the company’s diversified product offerings beyond its iconic canned soups.

The rebranding reflects Campbell’s expansion into various categories including sauces, snacks, and beverages. Despite the name change, Clouse reassured stakeholders that soup will remain a critical component of the company’s business. “We will always love soup, and we’ll never take our eye off of this critical business,” Clouse stated during the company’s investor day. “But today, we’re so much more than soup.”

The name change will be put to a vote by investors at Campbell’s annual meeting in November. If approved, the new name will emphasize the company’s broader portfolio, which now includes popular brands such as Goldfish crackers, Cape Cod crisps, V8 beverages, and Prego sauces. The company has also expanded through acquisitions, including Rao’s sauces maker, Sovos Brands.

Campbell’s ongoing transformation reflects its efforts to adapt to changing market dynamics. While canned soup remains a key part of its business, the company’s leadership believes that other products will drive future growth. Clouse mentioned that the company needs only stable soup sales to meet its financial targets, with other segments expected to contribute significantly to revenue.

Executives also highlighted the potential benefits of an aging U.S. population, which is likely to increase soup consumption among older adults. Despite the shift in focus, Campbell’s soup products continue to hold a special place in the company’s history, notably inspiring American artist Andy Warhol’s iconic pop art.

Looking forward, Campbell’s projects a rise in net sales between 9% and 11% for its 2025 fiscal year, with Goldfish crackers anticipated to become the company’s largest brand by 2027.

The rebranding to The Campbell’s Company signifies a strategic shift as the company seeks to align its identity with its expanded product lineup while maintaining its legacy in the soup market.
