During a civil fraud trial on Wednesday, Ivanka Trump expressed concerns regarding her father, Donald Trump’s financial capacity to purchase a golf estate in Florida in 2011. Testifying for five hours, Ivanka was questioned by the New York attorney general about the Trump Organization’s financial practices and the loans obtained for real estate developments.

The trial centers on allegations that Trump and his company inflated his net worth by up to $2.2 billion. Evidence presented in court included emails suggesting that Ivanka proposed reducing the net worth requirement to $2 billion, which led to scrutiny over her father’s financial claims.

Under questioning from attorney Louis Solomon of the Florida attorney general’s office, Ivanka clarified her limited role in the financial statements and loan agreements. She mentioned that although she was involved in real estate transactions, she was not privy to detailed personal financial statements.

Ivanka distanced herself from the fraudulent valuation practices deemed problematic by the court. She noted that Deutsche Bank, which financed the Doral Golf Resort & Spa, had sent teams to inspect the property before the purchase. She acknowledged the personal guarantee required for the loan but claimed she did not recall specific details about the net worth requirements.

The state attorney general’s office contends that Trump falsified financial statements to secure more favorable loan terms. The final loan agreement required Trump to maintain a minimum net worth of $2.5 billion, down from the initial $3 billion condition set by Deutsche Bank. At the time, Trump reported a net worth of $4.2 billion.

Ivanka Trump’s testimony highlights ongoing legal challenges for the Trump Organization as it faces allegations of financial misrepresentation.
