Concerning My Daughter, starring Im Se Mi and Ha Yoon Kyung, is set to premiere in South Korean theatres on September 4. The film, which explores the dynamics between a mother and her lesbian daughter, originally debuted at the Busan International Film Festival on October 8, 2023.

The story follows an independent woman who moves back into her mother’s home after experiencing financial setbacks, bringing her long-term same-sex partner, Rain, with her. This unexpected development leaves her mother feeling confused. The mother, a caregiver dedicated to her work, is also responsible for caring for Je Hee, an elderly woman living alone. As they navigate these changes, the family grapples with their own emotions and societal expectations, leading to a deeper mutual understanding.

Based on Kim Hye Jin’s novel Ttale Daehayeo, Concerning My Daughter marks the directorial debut of Lee Mirang. Im Se Mi, known for her roles in The Worst of Evil and Wonderful World, began her acting career in 2005 with Sharp Season 2 and made her film debut in Highway Star in 2007. Ha Yoon Kyung, who launched her acting career in 2014 with Mould, has appeared in popular series such as Hospital Playlist, Extraordinary Attorney Woo, and See You in My 19th Life. She will also feature in the second season of Extraordinary Attorney Woo.
