Disney has scheduled “Frozen 3” for a Thanksgiving release on November 24, 2027. The third installment in the beloved animated franchise will arrive just in time for the holiday season, following the success of its predecessors, both of which were released around Thanksgiving and achieved blockbuster status.
In addition to “Frozen 3,” Disney has also announced a new Pixar film, “Hoppers,” set for release on March 6, 2026. The film, led by voice actors Jon Hamm and Bobby Moynihan, is a body-swap comedy that explores a young girl’s adventures in understanding animals through technology.
The original “Frozen,” released in 2013, was a global sensation, earning nearly $1.3 billion and winning multiple awards, including two Oscars. Its 2019 sequel outperformed its predecessor with a total of $1.45 billion, briefly holding the title of the highest-grossing animated film. The franchise, featuring the royal sisters Anna and Elsa, voiced by Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel, introduced hit songs like “Let It Go” and “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?” and inspired a successful Broadway musical.
Disney CEO Bob Iger revealed in 2023 that a fourth installment is already in development. Veteran songwriters Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez will return to create new music for the upcoming films. According to Iger, director Jennifer Lee and her team are working on both “Frozen 3” and a potential “Frozen 4,” though details remain under wraps.
