Shane Warne’s son Jackson has thanked his friends, family and fans for their support, almost two months after his father Shane Warne’s shock death in Thailand at the age of 52. Jackson, 22, who bares a striking resemblance to his late dad, shared a video on Monday as he went for a morning swim.
Jackson said he’s ‘doing okay’ and is glad the cricket legend ‘impacted so many people’s lives in such a positive way’. ‘I just thought I’d come on here to say thank you,’ Jackson began. ‘Thank you to everyone that’s dropped a comment, liked a video, made a video, sent me photos of memorabilia, messages passing on their condolences, tattoos you’ve gotten of dad now, murals and artwork.
‘His old signatures and just everything really the last two months of just paying your respects and showing how much he loved you guys and how much you loved him.’Jackson said he’s focusing on the positives, like the influence Shane had on others during his lifetime. ‘It does put a smile on my face and makes me happy to know he’s impacted so many people’s lives in such a positive way,’ Jackson said.
‘It’s pretty unreal and I just wanted to come on here and say thank you and to let you all know as well that I’m okay. The last two or three weeks I’ve been training every day, I’ve been swimming every day and I’m okay.’
Shane died on March 4 at the age of 52 while on holiday with his friends in Koh Samui, Thailand. He died from ‘natural causes’, an autopsy concluded. Four friends who were staying with Shane battled to save his life for 20 minutes after he was found unconscious in a villa in their Koh Samui resort.
Thai police said that he was staying in the villa with four friends, and when one of the group tried to wake Shane for food at around 5pm local time he was found to be unresponsive.Kylie Minogue, Hugh Jackman, and Chris Martin paid tribute to Shane at his star-studded state memorial last month.
Meanwhile, on Saturday Robbie Williams paid tribute to his late friend Shane at his Melbourne concert by getting the crowd to chant ‘Warnie’ before his hit song Feel.
