Another example of how dangerous the addiction of online gaming and especially PUBG can prove to be, has come to the fore in Pakistan. Here in Lahore, the capital of Punjab province, a 14-year-old boy gunned down his mother, two sisters and a brother while sleeping. The incident happened last week. On Friday, the police put the truth of this sensational murder in front of the country. The accused is a minor. So his name was not given. He has been arrested. The pistol with which he carried out the murder was bought by the minor’s mother to protect the family.
What’s the matter?
Nahid Mubarak, 45, lived with his two daughters (17 and 11 years) and two sons (22 and 14 years) in Khana, a posh area in Lahore. Nahid was divorced and was an employee of the government health department.
Last week the bodies of Nahid, both daughters and elder son were recovered from their house. The younger son, 14, had requested the neighbor to call the police. This 14-year-old boy was the only one left in the whole family. Everyone else was murdered. There was a lot of pressure on the police to solve the case. There was a lot of discussion in the media about this matter.
How the police opened the Raj
Police said in a statement – On getting information about the incident, investigation was done from many angles. The minor had asked the neighbor to call the police even though there were several phones in the house. We doubted him. He had told the police that he was sleeping on the top floor and saw the bodies in the morning. On inquiring deeply, he broke down and told that he had done all these murders.
According to the
police, during the investigation, it was found that the minor mother was troubled by her addiction to playing PUBG game and had asked her to concentrate on studies several times. Even on the day of the incident, Nahid scolded his son for giving up his gaming addiction. When all the family members slept in the night, the minor took out the licensed pistol of the mother from the almirah and killed everyone one by one. He is also not mentally healthy due to gaming addiction. He has confessed to the crime.
