Gemma is the daughter of legendary footballer Michael Owen  and Louise Bonsall.Gemma’s new venture comes as her dad Michael Owen has said that his nerves on The Masked Singer left him ‘numb’ and revealed some of his footballer friends ‘took the mick’ after he was unveiled as Doughnuts.

The former footballer, 42, was one of the latest celebrities to leave the competition in Sunday’s episode along with actress Jaime Winstone, 36. Michael, who played in major tournaments and cup finals including the UEFA Cup, FA Cup and Football League Cup, told MailOnline: ‘I wasn’t the nervous type. If it’s football, I could play in front of one person or a million.

‘It doesn’t make any difference because you are so confident in your ability. ‘But when you are absolutely useless at something like I was in this, then it takes an awful lot of stupidity and courage to go and do it.  ‘When I was about to walk through to that stage and I could just see masses of people, cameras and lights. I literally went numb.

‘The most awful feeling knowing people were immediately going to say “He’s not a singer. What an awful voice”.  Sports pundit Michael, who belted out Five’s noughties track Everybody Get Up, compared his nerves to taking a penalty but said ‘he just had to go for it’
