Leaving the safety of the mother’s womb, when the baby comes into the world, it takes time for his body to adjust to the new environment. For this, he gets infected in the first few days or weeks which is natural. But recent research says that asymptomatic viral infections in an infant’s early days or weeks are associated with an increased risk of respiratory infections later in life. According to the study published in the research journal Natural Microbiology, the immune system of newborns and the microbiome are intertwined which is the community of microbes living in our body. These, in a way, affect the child’s risk and subsequent infections.
Experts said, early infections of the virus can be prevented. But for this it is necessary to strengthen the immune system with specially designed brobiotics. It is responsible for 15 percent of deaths of children under five years of age globally. Researchers from the University of Edinburgh conducted this research in 114 children.
