Tom Blyth and Emily Bader are set to star in Netflix’s highly anticipated adaptation of Emily Henry’s bestselling novel, People We Meet on Vacation. The streaming giant confirmed the casting on August 2, revealing that Blyth, 29, will take on the role of Alex Nilsen, while Bader, 27, will portray Poppy Wright.

The announcement came via an Instagram video featuring a Zoom call between Bader and director Brett Haley. In the clip, Haley asks Bader if she would like to play Poppy, and Blyth soon joins the conversation, marking the beginning of their collaboration. Bader expressed her excitement, stating that fans would “completely fall in love with Poppy and Alex with you guys playing them.”

People We Meet on Vacation tells the story of two best friends, Poppy and Alex, who are complete opposites in their personalities. Poppy is a spontaneous adventurer, while Alex is a more reserved bookworm. Despite their differences, they maintain a close friendship, meeting every summer for a week of travel. Emily Bader is known for her role as Lady Jane Grey in the Prime Video series My Lady Jane and has appeared in notable films such as Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin and Fresh Kills. Tom Blyth gained recognition for his portrayal of young Coriolanus Snow in The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes and stars in the MGM+ series Billy the Kid.
