In a recent interview with podcaster Lex Fridman, former President Donald Trump revealed plans to release a range of classified files if he is re-elected in 2024. Among the documents he has promised to disclose are footage of unidentified flying objects (UFOs), classified information related to former President John F. Kennedy, and the so-called “Epstein files.”
Trump, who has frequently voiced skepticism about government secrecy, assured Fridman, “I’ll do that. I would do that. I’d love to do that. I have to do that.” He emphasized that while he has already released some Kennedy files, he would release more if given the opportunity, despite previous pressures to withhold them.
The former president also addressed the contentious issue of Jeffrey Epstein, the convicted sex offender with whom Trump was photographed on several occasions. Trump asserted, “I don’t think I had… I mean, I’m not involved. I never went to his island, fortunately. But a lot of people did.” He suggested that Epstein’s ability to attract high-profile guests was due to his persuasive skills and indicated he would review and potentially release Epstein-related documents to reveal more about the controversial figure.
Trump further commented on the sensitive nature of these documents, particularly those concerning Kennedy and Epstein, stating that their release could have implications for various individuals and historical events. “Kennedy’s interesting ’cause it’s so many years ago. You know, they do that for danger too, because you know, endangers certain people, et cetera, et cetera. So Kennedy is very different from the Epstein thing. But yeah, I’d be inclined to do the Epstein. I’d have no problem with it,” he said.
In addition to these promises, Trump discussed other topics during the podcast, including his views on the current administration, the 2020 election, illegal immigration, and foreign policy issues related to Ukraine and China.
