Billionaire entrepreneurs Elon Musk and Mark Cuban are once again at odds, this time over a provocative poll Cuban conducted on social media. The poll, posted on the microblogging platform X, asked followers to choose whether Kamala Harris or Donald Trump would be a better role model for young children.

Cuban’s poll, which garnered approximately 804,173 votes, saw a clear preference for former President Donald Trump, with 68.9% of respondents favoring him over Vice President Kamala Harris, who received 31.1% of the votes.

Elon Musk, known for his outspoken comments on social media, took issue with Cuban’s poll. Musk responded to criticism from a Dogecoin designer who described Cuban’s post as showcasing “an idiot who thinks he’s a genius.” Musk chimed in, saying, “The tenacity of his stupidity is a marvel to behold,” criticizing the perceived lack of thought behind the poll.

Interestingly, Cuban had previously shown support for Kamala Harris, aligning himself with her campaign among more than 200 venture capitalists who backed her bid for the presidency.

Polls and Political Dynamics

Ahead of the Labour Day 2024 weekend, recent polls indicate a tight race between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump. Harris is reported to hold a slight edge over Trump in key battleground states. According to NBC News, Harris is performing better than Trump in most national surveys, with poll results often falling within the margin of error. The latest Wall Street Journal polls show Harris receiving 48% of the vote, while Trump remains close behind at 47%.

Musk’s Endorsement of Trump

Elon Musk has previously shown support for Trump, especially following a failed assassination attempt on the former president. In July, Musk publicly endorsed Trump, expressing hope for his swift recovery. “I fully endorse President Trump and hope for his rapid recovery,” Musk wrote on X, sharing a visual of Secret Service agents assisting Trump off the stage after the incident.

The clash between Musk and Cuban underscores the broader political and social debates prevalent in the U.S., with high-profile figures weighing in on contentious issues through social media platforms.
