Billionaire Republican donor Miriam Adelson is poised to become one of former President Donald Trump’s most significant financial backers as she ramps up her support for his 2024 campaign. Adelson, a prominent GOP megadonor, has made clear her commitment to ensuring Trump’s return to the White House, pledging substantial resources to the Preserve America super PAC.
Adelson’s political aide, Andy Abboud, was recently overheard at a campaign event at Trump’s golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey, emphasizing that Adelson is prepared to provide whatever financial support is needed for Trump to win. Abboud confirmed in an interview with CNBC that the super PAC is set to exceed its previous expenditure, aiming to surpass the $100 million spent against President Joe Biden in the 2020 election cycle.
As of now, Adelson has already contributed $5 million to Preserve America, with the PAC reserving over $40 million in television ads targeting Vice President Kamala Harris and supporting Trump. The PAC’s planned expenditure of roughly $60 million by Labor Day underscores its aggressive strategy in key battleground states such as Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.
Adelson, who received the Presidential Medal of Freedom from Trump in 2018, voiced strong support for Trump at a recent event, urging Jewish voters to back him and highlighting his administration’s achievements, including the relocation of the U.S. embassy in Israel to Jerusalem. Despite reports of some internal friction within the PAC, Adelson’s commitment remains firm, signaling her crucial role in Trump’s campaign strategy.
With a net worth exceeding $28 billion and substantial holdings in Las Vegas Sands, Adelson continues to be a pivotal figure in GOP fundraising. Her previous donations, alongside her late husband Sheldon Adelson, have made them top contributors in past elections, with significant funds directed toward Preserve America.
As the 2024 election cycle progresses, Adelson’s financial influence is set to play a critical role in shaping the outcome, reinforcing her status as a key player in Trump’s bid for re-election.
