A former employee of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle has publicly criticized the couple following the resignation of Josh Kettler, their Chief of Staff. The ex-staffer claimed that none of their former employees would be willing to return to work for the Sussexes, even if given the opportunity.
In an interview with the Daily Mail, the former staff member expressed their discontent, stating, “What may be most telling is that the entire time I worked there, I don’t think I heard a single current or former employee on their staff say they would take the job again if given the chance.” The individual pointed out that these were not just any employees but highly skilled professionals who had previously thrived in demanding roles.
The timing of these remarks coincides with Harry and Meghan’s upcoming tour to Colombia, where they are expected to visit Bogotá, Cartagena, and Cali, participating in various cultural and public events. According to GB News Royal Correspondent Cameron Walker, the criticism could pose a challenge for their remaining staff, who are trying to manage the narrative before the tour.
Walker noted that the Sussexes will be keen to shift focus towards their tour’s goals, including highlighting online security for children. However, the controversy surrounding their former staff might overshadow their efforts. “It’s meant to be all happy and nice, and an unofficial royal tour shining a light on online security for children, which clearly it won’t be, because we’re talking about an ex-staff member who’s left a big shock,” Walker said.
Walker also speculated on the reasons behind the high turnover of staff, suggesting that it might be due to the attractive career prospects that working for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex can offer. Alternatively, he hinted at potential issues with the working environment, though he refrained from making definitive statements.
