Billionaire investor Mark Cuban has issued a stark warning to Elon Musk regarding his loyalty to former President Donald Trump. After defending Musk’s humor in a recent podcast, Cuban cautioned that Musk’s support for Trump may not guarantee any political favors in return. As Musk aligns himself more closely with Trump—backing his campaign and potentially eyeing a role in his administration—Cuban emphasized that Trump’s loyalty ultimately lies with himself.
Cuban’s remarks come amid Musk’s escalating conspiracy theories about Democratic influence in elections, stirring tensions as the 2024 presidential race intensifies. “Elon, there will come a time when you need something from Donald Trump,” Cuban noted. He reflected on Musk’s unwavering support, stating that at the moment Musk needs Trump the most, he might discover that Trump’s loyalty is not reciprocal.
Though Cuban has clarified he is not friends with Musk, he acknowledged they have exchanged texts. Recently, Musk criticized Cuban on X (formerly Twitter), calling him “proof that even morons can become billionaires” in response to speculation about Cuban seeking the SEC chair position if Kamala Harris wins the presidency.
Musk’s admiration for Trump has become increasingly evident, especially as he hosted Trump for a special interview on his platform, during which Trump suggested Musk could have a role in a future administration.
In another provocative X post, Musk declared, “if Trump is NOT elected, this will be the last election,” arguing that Trump is essential for saving democracy. He further accused the Biden/Harris administration of fast-tracking undocumented immigrants to citizenship in key swing states, suggesting this could skew future elections.
Despite his pro-immigrant stance, Musk has advocated for stricter immigration controls. A resurfaced 2013 interview featuring Musk and his brother Kimbal joking about their past as “illegal immigrants” adds another layer to Musk’s complex relationship with the immigration debate.
