Steph Curry left the Warriors’ game vs. the Mavericks Saturday night with an apparent left leg injury, with the sharpshooting guard exiting the game late in the third quarter. Curry was guarding Dallas’ McKinley Wright IV when the pair bumped knees and Curry came away from the play limping.
Curry was listed as probable for the game against the Mavs with a left leg contusion. He came down awkwardly on a three-point attempt in the fourth quarter against the Nuggets on Thursday.
The guard was visibly in pain on the play and hobbled into the stands. The 34-year-old went back to the locker room after being evaluated by Warriors trainer Rick Celebrini. An initial X-ray on the ‘left lower leg’ injury was negative, and Curry is set to get an MRI.
It’s been a difficult season for the defending champions, who are just 27-26 and seventh in the Western Conference. Their next game is vs. the Thunder on Monday. He missed 11 games this season after suffering a partially dislocated shoulder. Curry had a game-high 21 points on 7-of-11 shooting when he left the game, and the Warriors held on to win 119-113.
