Filigran, the innovative Paris-based startup, is making waves in the cybersecurity industry after raising a whopping $35 million in a Series B funding round, just months after securing $16 million in a Series A. With this financial backing, Filigran is on track to become a leading player in cybersecurity threat management.
OpenCTI: The Heart of Filigran’s Success
At the core of Filigran’s offerings is OpenCTI, an open-source threat intelligence platform that empowers organizations to import and enrich threat data from various sources, including prominent providers like CrowdStrike and SentinelOne. This platform has become a cornerstone for many organizations, including the European Commission, the FBI, and New York City Cyber Command.
Impressive Community Engagement: The open-source version of OpenCTI has seen contributions from over 4,300 cybersecurity professionals and has been downloaded millions of times.
Diverse Clientele: Filigran’s enterprise edition is utilized by industry giants such as Airbus, Marriott, and Hermès.
Introducing the eXtended Threat Management Suite
Building on its initial success, Filigran is expanding its product line with the introduction of the eXtended Threat Management (XTM) suite. This suite aims to provide a comprehensive approach to cybersecurity.
New Offerings: One of the exciting additions is OpenBAS, a breach and attack simulation platform. While OpenCTI and OpenBAS can be used independently, together they offer a more holistic view of potential risks.
Future Aspirations and Community Focus
Co-founder and CEO Samuel Hassine has ambitious plans for Filigran, aiming to launch a third product by 2026, creating a full suite of complementary solutions for today’s complex cybersecurity challenges.
XTM Hub: Inspired by platforms like GitHub, Filigran plans to introduce XTM Hub, a collaborative space for cybersecurity professionals to share resources and connect with one another. This hub is expected to launch by the end of the year.
Funding and Global Expansion Plans
Insight Partners is leading the Series B funding round, with previous investors Accel and Moonfire also participating. The funds will not only support product development but will also help Filigran expand its footprint beyond France, the U.S., and Australia, targeting markets in Germany, Japan, and Singapore.
With these strategic moves, Filigran is set to redefine cybersecurity threat management, providing robust solutions that empower organizations to navigate the evolving landscape of cyber threats.
