Get ready for an exciting new drama series! Fremantle, the powerhouse production and distribution company, is partnering with Brazilian public broadcaster Globo to bring Crime Inc to life. Developed and produced by Mixer Films alongside Fremantle, this gripping series promises to deliver a cinematic experience that will keep audiences on the edge of their seats.

Set against the vibrant backdrop of Rio de Janeiro, Crime Inc follows the intense story of Vagner and his father, Marquinhos, a leader in the local mafia. The plot thickens as intergenerational conflicts over succession within the crime family create a tense atmosphere. Young Vagner is determined to become the first Black leader of the organization, willing to go to any lengths to secure his place once his father steps down.

“We are very excited about this series,” said João Daniel Tikhomiroff, president of Mixer Films. “Inspired by true events, Crime Inc is filled with conflicts and unexpected twists, all woven into a strong narrative that will captivate viewers.”

Written by Dudu Nobre and Caio Cobra, and adapted for the screen by Marcos Osorio Vidal and Willy Van Broock, this collaboration marks the first project between Fremantle and Globo—but it certainly won’t be the last.

Manuel Belmar, Globo’s Director of Digital Products, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership: “We are very happy with this first agreement between Globo and Fremantle, which I am sure will open doors to new opportunities. We look for stories that resonate across different audiences and cultures, and we believe Crime Inc has the potential to engage viewers both in Brazil and internationally.”

Manuel Marti, Head of Scripted Development at Fremantle in Latin America, added, “This partnership with Globo marks an exciting chapter for Fremantle as we continue to explore compelling stories that transcend borders. Crime Inc offers a unique narrative that showcases the richness and diversity of Brazilian storytelling.”
