MTV Documentary Films is making waves with its upcoming short documentary I Am Ready, Warden, set to premiere on Paramount+ on November 22. I Am Ready, Warden explores the life of John Henry Ramirez, a death row inmate facing execution as he grapples with his past and seeks redemption. Mundhra collaborated with journalist Keri Blakinger, whose Pulitzer Prize-nominated article inspired this poignant narrative.

Sheila Nevins, a legendary figure in documentary filmmaking, serves as executive producer, alongside Nina L. Diaz and Liza Burnett Fefferman. Nevins, known for her humanist approach to storytelling, notes the film’s provocative questions: “What if the man on death row isn’t the same man who committed the crime 20 years ago? Is the pain of the victim’s family eased by the execution of the perpetrator?”
