A Modern Horror Remake That Will Keep You on the Edge of Your Seat
Blumhouse Productions has just released a spine-chilling new trailer for “Wolf Man,” a contemporary reinterpretation of the classic Universal monster tale. Set to hit theaters on January 17, this film promises to blend horror with deep family drama.
A Terrifying Transformation
In the film, Christopher Abbott stars as Blake, a seemingly ordinary husband and father who descends into chaos as he grapples with a dark transformation. Julia Garner, known for her standout role in “Ozark,” plays his wife Charlotte, who must confront not only the horror lurking outside their home but also the monstrous changes happening within her husband.
The Official Logline
The story unfolds as Blake inherits a remote childhood home in rural Oregon after the mysterious disappearance of his father. Struggling with a crumbling marriage, he convinces Charlotte to escape their bustling life in San Francisco for a family getaway. However, their trip quickly turns nightmarish when an unseen creature attacks as they approach the farmhouse. In a desperate attempt to survive, the family barricades themselves inside, only to find that Blake is undergoing a horrifying transformation, leaving Charlotte to question whether the real monster is outside or closer to home.
A Glimpse into the Horror
The trailer teases a tense atmosphere, starting with a brutal car crash that sets the stage for Blake’s gradual infection by a hidden monster. As the transformation progresses, viewers watch in dread as he grows claws and hair, becoming increasingly unrecognizable. The chilling climax shows Abbott in his full Wolf Man form, lunging at Charlotte as she desperately tries to escape.
Directed by a Horror Maestro
“Wolf Man” is directed by Leigh Whannell, the visionary behind the successful 2020 horror film “The Invisible Man,” which grossed a remarkable $144 million worldwide. Produced by Jason Blum, the film is a collaboration between Blumhouse and Motel Movies, with executive producers including Ryan Gosling, who was initially set to star, alongside Ken Kao, Bea Sequeira, Mel Turner, and Whannell.
