Get ready, fans! The beloved animated duo, Phineas and Ferb, are set to make a triumphant return to the screen in 2025, and the excitement is palpable! Co-creators Dan Povenmire and Jeff “Swampy” Marsh shared thrilling updates during their panel at New York Comic-Con, revealing key cast members returning for the revival and giving us a sneak peek of what’s to come.
Original Cast Reunites for More Summer Adventures
Joining Povenmire and Marsh on stage were fan-favorites Vincent Martella (Phineas Flynn) and David Errigo Jr. (who took over the role of Ferb Fletcher in 2020). But that’s not all! The original cast is back in action, including Ashley Tisdale as Candace Flynn, Caroline Rhea as Linda Flynn-Fletcher, Dee Bradley Baker as the lovable Perry the Platypus, and Alyson Stoner as Isabella Garcia-Shapiro. And yes, Povenmire and Marsh will reprise their iconic roles as Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz and Major Francis Monogram, respectively.
What’s in Store for the New Season?
This revival promises to capture the spirit of the original series, with the inventive stepbrothers tackling another 104 days of summer fun! Candace is more determined than ever to bust her little brothers, while their pet platypus, Perry, continues his double life as the suave Agent P, outsmarting the ever-ambitious Dr. Doofenshmirtz.
At the D23 convention, the creators teased a new season song, “Summer Is Starting Right Now,” and confirmed a writing team made up of both returning writers and fresh faces who grew up loving the show. Notably, actress Olivia Olson, who voices Vanessa Doofenshmirtz, is among the talented writers contributing to this new era of creativity.
A Legacy of Fun and Awards
Originally airing from 2008 to 2015, “Phineas and Ferb” became a cultural phenomenon, with approximately 126 episodes, several specials, and two successful movies, including “Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Across the 2nd Dimension.” The series has won five Emmy Awards and remains Disney’s most successful animated show in the kids’ 6-11 and tweens’ 9-14 demographics.
