Apple TV+ is stirring up excitement with the release of the trailer for “Silo” Season 2, based on Hugh Howey’s gripping trilogy of dystopian sci-fi novels. The highly anticipated second season premieres on November 15, with new episodes dropping every Friday until January 17.
Set in a world where the last ten thousand people on Earth reside in a massive underground silo, the series explores the mysteries surrounding their toxic, deadly environment. The official logline promises suspense: “No one knows when or why the silo was built, and those who seek answers often face deadly consequences.” Rebecca Ferguson stars as Juliette, an engineer driven by the desire to uncover the truth behind a loved one’s murder. As she delves deeper into the mystery, she discovers a web of lies that could threaten her very existence.
Joining Ferguson in the Season 2 cast are notable talents including Steve Zahn, Tim Robbins, Common, Harriet Walter, Chinaza Uche, and Iain Glen, among others, ensuring a powerhouse ensemble.
Produced by Apple Studios, “Silo” is executive produced by an impressive team including series creator Graham Yost, Michael Dinner, and Nina Jack, along with Ferguson herself and acclaimed director Morten Tyldum.
In other news, Point Road Productions has announced that its documentary “The Last Amateur,” originally titled “Nothing But Net,” will premiere at Doc LA on October 19. Featuring NBA superstar Kevin Garnett and basketball analyst Jay Bilas, the film follows the journey of Silvio De Sousa, a talented 5-star recruit from Angola navigating the complexities of NCAA college basketball and the U.S. justice system. De Sousa, who faced public vilification after being implicated in a ‘pay for play’ scandal, fights to clear his name and return to the game he loves.
Billy Raftery directs, writes, and produces the documentary, with executive producers including Garnett and other industry heavyweights.
