MGM+ has announced that “Billy the Kid” will return for a third and final season, starring Tom Blyth as the infamous Old West outlaw. The last season will consist of eight episodes and follows shortly after the conclusion of Season 2.
In Season 3, the action continues as Billy the Kid navigates the aftermath of the Lincoln County War. With a bounty on his head, he faces off against Sheriff Pat Garrett, played by Alex Roe, who is determined to capture him—dead or alive. Despite the chance to leave New Mexico and start a new life with his love, Dulcinea, played by Nuria Vega, Billy has unfinished business with Garrett. Meanwhile, his friend and rival, Jesse Evans (Daniel Webber), is also in Lincoln, searching for redemption.
Michael Hirst, the show’s creator and executive producer, expressed excitement about wrapping up the story of this complex character. “Billy is known for escaping tough situations, but this time, the odds are against him,” Hirst said.
Michael Wright, head of MGM+, praised the cast and crew for their work in Season 2, highlighting the dramatic buildup to the infamous Lincoln County War. He added that Season 3 will bring the captivating story of one of America’s most misunderstood figures to a thrilling conclusion.
