“Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story” debuted as the most-watched series on Netflix during the week of September 16-22, racking up 12.3 million views in just four days. While this opening is impressive, it pales in comparison to the premiere of the anthology series’ first installment; in 2022, “Dahmer: Monster — The Jeffrey Dahmer Story” garnered 196.2 million hours viewed within five days, roughly translating to an estimated 22 million views based on its runtime. Another recent Ryan Murphy project, “The Watcher,” also performed strongly, attracting 125 million hours watched, or about 22.5 million views, in its first four days.
However, “Monsters” was not the week’s overall most-watched title. That honor went to “Uglies,” which led the English-language film chart with 26.8 million views in its first full week, following a solid debut at No. 2 with 20.8 million views the prior week. After two weeks at the top, “Rebel Ridge” fell to No. 2, accumulating 16.7 million views.
On the TV front, “The Perfect Couple” secured the second spot in viewership, with 12.3 million views after two weeks of strong performances, down from 21.9 million and 20.3 million views in previous weeks.
“Emily in Paris” Season 4 continued its presence in the Top 10, landing at No. 4 with 9.2 million views in its sixth week on the chart, including the final episodes of the season. Seasons 1, 2, and 3 of “Prison Break” saw a resurgence on the platform, racking up 3.4 million, 2.8 million, and 2.2 million views, respectively.
In seventh place, “Kaos” had 2.2 million views in its fourth week, while “CoComelon” Season 11 debuted with 2 million views right behind it. The bottom two slots in the English-language TV chart went to “Selling Sunset” Season 8 and “Worst Ex Ever,” both attracting 1.7 million views.
Here’s a look at Netflix’s Top 10 lists for the week of September 16-22, starting with English-language series, followed by non-English-language shows, English-language films, and non-English-language films.
