Blake Shelton has officially signed with BBR Music Group/BMG Nashville, just weeks after announcing his departure from Warner Music Nashville, where he had a successful career since the early 2000s.
Jon Loba, BMG’s president of frontline recordings for the Americas, expressed excitement over Shelton joining the label, stating, “Blake is one of the biggest personalities and presences in media. America first got to know him through incredible, timeless songs and live shows and then fell in love with him and his sense of humor through TV. We are thrilled to welcome him to the BMG Global family and can’t wait to share his new music with the world. He’s been laser-focused on delivering some of the best of his career, and it shows.”
In his own statement, Shelton thanked Loba and the BMG team for their enthusiasm about his new chapter, saying, “I felt their passion and love for music when I met with them, and I knew I was home. I am ready to go!”
Shelton joins a notable country roster at BMG, which includes artists like Jelly Roll, Lainey Wilson, Jason Aldean, and Dustin Lynch. BMG expanded its country music presence significantly with the acquisition of BBR Music Group in 2017.
As for his upcoming performances, Shelton’s Las Vegas residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace features six shows from February 5-15. Following that, he will embark on a “Friends & Heroes Tour” starting February 27 in Lexington, Kentucky, with opening acts including Craig Morgan, Deana Carter, Trace Adkins, and Emily Ann Roberts.
With 28 No. 1 country singles to his name, Shelton’s journey began with Giant Records in 2001 before transitioning to Warner, where his first major hit, “Austin,” launched his chart-topping career. His last full album with Warner was 2021’s “Body Language.” Additionally, Shelton has enjoyed a successful run as a coach on “The Voice,” solidifying his status as a television star. He is currently featured on Post Malone’s hit “Pour Me a Drink,” which recently climbed to No. 6 on Billboard’s country airplay chart.
