BTS’ Jungkook has made a remarkable profit of approximately 2.3 billion KRW from his real estate investment in Itaewon over the past four years. His property, originally purchased for 7.63 billion KRW in December 2020, has seen its value surge to an impressive 10 billion KRW.
According to a report by Korean media outlet Herald Economy on September 15, Jungkook’s detached building in the upscale Yongsan-gu neighborhood has substantially increased in worth. The property, bought in cash for 39.59 million KRW per 3.3㎡, initially spanned 637㎡ of land with a floor area of 230.74㎡, including two above-ground floors and one basement.
In 2021, Jungkook received a permit to reconstruct the house, which has now transformed into a modern building with 2 basement levels and 3 above-ground floors, totaling a floor area of 1,161.04㎡ and a building area of 348.05㎡. With the market value rising to over 100 million KRW per 3.3㎡, the property’s current asking price has hit the 10 billion KRW mark.
Situated just 10 minutes from Itaewon Station, the property is in an affluent area often referred to as South Korea’s Beverly Hills, surrounded by high-end homes and embassies.
On the professional front, Jungkook is currently fulfilling his mandatory military service, which he began in December 2023 following the release of his solo debut album “GOLDEN.” He is expected to return in June 2025. Meanwhile, he has continued to engage with fans through various projects, including the release of his new track “Never Let Go” for BTS FESTA 2024, a solo exhibition titled “GOLDEN: The Moments,” and his global Disney+ travel show “Are You Sure?” with Jimin. Fans eagerly await his next solo album as he balances his diverse activities.
