At Tuesday night’s MTV Video Music Awards, Taylor Swift set a new record with 30 moon men, surpassing Beyoncé’s previous solo record of 26 wins. Beyoncé, including her work with Destiny’s Child and The Carters, has a total of 30 VMA wins, tying her with Swift’s latest achievement. Swift also became the first artist to win the Video of the Year award five times.

During her acceptance speech, Swift praised the collaborative efforts behind her winning video and expressed gratitude to Post Malone and her boyfriend, Travis Kelce. “Thank you for adding that special touch to our shoot,” she said, referencing Kelce’s support.

Swift also took the opportunity to thank her fans for their role in the success of her career, the Eras Tour, and her music video “The Tortured Poet’s Department.” She encouraged young voters to register for the upcoming election, emphasizing its importance.

Leading the nominations with 12, Swift secured several major awards, including Artist of the Year and multiple wins for her collaboration with Post Malone on “Fortnight,” which earned Song of the Year, Song of the Summer, and Video of the Year. Swift is the only artist to have won Video of the Year three years in a row.

Beyoncé was nominated for Song of the Year with her track “Texas Hold ’Em” from her country album, Cowboy Carter. “Texas Hold ’Em” competed against Swift’s “Fortnight,” Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us,” Sabrina Carpenter’s “Espresso,” Teddy Swims’ “Lose Control,” and Jack Harlow’s “Lovin on Me.”
