Camila Cabello is gearing up for more new music. On August 30, the 27-year-old pop star revealed on Instagram that she will be releasing an expanded edition of her latest album, C, XOXO, titled the Magic City Edition, which will feature a new single called “Godspeed.”
Cabello teased the upcoming track with the caption, “i wish you well, but far away from me,” suggesting a theme that may revolve around a breakup. The brief teaser video shows the singer swimming in a dark pool while wearing a glittering silver dress. In a follow-up post, she wrote, “Always more stories to tell. Some new songs for your night in Magic City,” hinting at the album’s additional content.
This announcement comes amid speculation surrounding Sabrina Carpenter’s new album, Short n’ Sweet. Fans have speculated that songs on Carpenter’s album, such as “Coincidence,” “Sharpest Tool,” and “Taste,” might hint at a love triangle involving Cabello, Carpenter, and Shawn Mendes. Mendes, who was previously linked with Cabello, was seen with Carpenter earlier this year, fueling rumors about their relationships.
Adding to the intrigue, Cabello recently posted a TikTok of herself singing along to her track “June Gloom,” which contains lyrics that seem to address the situation directly: “She’s cool, I heard / Won’t act surprised, I saw the pictures / […] If she’s so amazing, why are you on this side of town? / If you like her so much, what are you here trying to find out?”
Cabello’s fourth studio album, C, XOXO, was released in June and includes 14 tracks, featuring collaborations with Drake. The album’s lead singles include “I Luv It” with Playboi Carti and “He Knows” with Lil Nas X.
