Cinetic Media has officially signed Oscar-winning filmmaker Kevin MacDonald for management representation.
MacDonald, acclaimed for his Academy Award-winning documentary One Day in September—which explores the 1972 Munich Olympics massacre—and for directing The Last King of Scotland, which earned Forest Whitaker an Oscar for Best Actor, is the latest addition to Cinetic Media’s roster. MacDonald’s upcoming projects include the documentary One to One: John & Yoko, set to premiere at the Venice Film Festival, and Klitschko: More Than a Fight, which recently opened the 2024 Sheffield DocFest. His other notable documentaries include Marley, Whitney, and High & Low — John Galliano.
In addition to his documentary work, MacDonald directed the narrative feature The Mauritanian, starring Benedict Cumberbatch, Jodie Foster, and Tahar Rahim. His producing credits include Senna, The Rescue, and Pele. MacDonald also collaborates with Plan B to co-develop and co-produce non-fiction films and series.
John Sloss, principal at Cinetic Media, praised MacDonald’s versatility in both documentary and scripted storytelling, highlighting his fit for their multidisciplinary management approach. Cinetic Media’s management division represents a range of industry talents, including Richard Linklater, Todd Haynes, and Chris Smith, and offers services in content sales, financing, marketing, and corporate advisory.
MacDonald will continue to be represented by WME and United Agents alongside his new management arrangement with Cinetic Media.
