“Ted Lasso” is on track for a Season 4 renewal, Variety has confirmed. Warner Bros. Television has secured options for original cast members Hannah Waddingham, Brett Goldstein, and Jeremy Swift. While it’s expected that Jason Sudeikis will return in some capacity as an executive producer, Warner Bros. TV has not yet commented officially.
Waddingham, Goldstein, and Swift’s involvement is confirmed due to their U.K. Equity agreements, with negotiations for the U.S. SAG-AFTRA cast members still pending.
Discussions about a revival of “Ted Lasso” have been circulating since the end of its third season. Warner Bros. TV CEO Channing Dungey hinted at the possibility of more episodes in January, suggesting that while the show’s finale provided a potential opening for continuation, no official plans were yet in place.
“Ted Lasso” features Sudeikis as the titular character, a small-time American football coach who is hired to manage a professional soccer team in England despite lacking experience in the sport. The series, which also stars Waddingham, Goldstein, Swift, Brendan Hunt, Juno Temple, and Phil Dunster, was developed by Sudeikis, Bill Lawrence, Hunt, and Joe Kelly, based on characters from NBC Sports.
