Ollie Bearman, a junior driver for Ferrari, signed a multi-year contract with Haas F1 Team, securing a full-time seat beginning in the 2025 season, which is a significant move for the future of Formula 1. In the world of motorsport, the 19-year-old Briton has gained prominence. He most famously filled in for Carlos Sainz at Ferrari during the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, where he successfully collected points with a seventh-place finish.

Bearman, who is currently racing in Formula 2 with PREMA, demonstrated his skill by winning the recent Austrian Grand Prix Sprint Race for the first time this season and for the fourth time overall. With scheduled appearances in Free Practice 1 sessions scheduled for the current season, including this weekend’s session at Silverstone, his status as a reserve driver for both Haas and Ferrari in Formula 1 has further strengthened his credentials.

After signing with Haas, Bearman expressed his happiness, highlighting the realization of a childhood dream. He said, “It is really amazing to be one of the very few people who can do what they always wanted to do.” He thanked the Scuderia Ferrari Driver Academy for preparing him since his F4 days and Haas for their faith in him.

Bearman’s maturity and preparedness for the highest level of motorsport were emphasized by Haas Team Principal Ayao Komatsu. Komatsu said of Bearman’s outstanding performance in Saudi Arabia, “Oliver proved he was more than ready for the task.” In the years to come, he anticipated a mutually beneficial partnership between the team and Bearman, highlighting the team’s commitment to his continued development on and off the track.

Haas still needs to fill one seat for the upcoming season because Nico Hulkenberg is leaving for Sauber/Audi and Kevin Magnussen’s contract expires in 2024. Leading competitors Esteban Ocon of Alpine and Valtteri Bottas of Sauber are also possible returnees for Magnussen given his recent impressive performances.

The motorsport world is excited for Bearman to continue developing and supporting Haas in his racing pursuits as he gets ready to take on his new role in Formula 1, helping to shape the sport’s future with his youthful promise and tenacity.
