Taylor Wily, best known for his role as Kamekona Tupuola on “Hawaii Five-0,” has died at the age of 56, his entertainment attorney confirmed. The cause of death has not been disclosed, but local news outlet KITV reported that Wily passed away in Hurricane, Utah.

Executive producer Peter Lenkov, who worked closely with Wily on “Hawaii Five-0” and “Magnum P.I.,” expressed profound grief over the loss on Instagram. “Devastated. Heartbroken. You charmed me into making you a regular… on the show… and in my life,” Lenkov wrote, sharing a heartfelt tribute alongside a series of photos capturing their bond. “You were family. And I will miss you every day, brother.”

Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, Wily initially pursued a career in sumo wrestling and mixed martial arts before transitioning to acting. He became a beloved figure in the entertainment industry for his recurring role as Kamekona Tupuola in “Hawaii Five-0,” appearing in 171 episodes. His portrayal of Kamekona also extended to guest appearances in “MacGyver” and “Magnum P.I.” Additionally, Wily showcased his versatility on the big screen in films like “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” and as a contestant on the 20th season of “The Amazing Race.”
