In a bold move to champion environmental conservation and promote the use of electric vehicles (EVs), the organizers of Extreme E have announced the schedule for the fourth season of the all-electric SUV off-road racing series. The groundbreaking motorsports series, which focuses on raising awareness about the impact of climate change and human interventions in remote and ecologically sensitive areas, is set to kick off its global tour in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the fourth consecutive year.

Scheduled to take place on February 17th and 18th, 2024, the first two rounds of the season will be held at a new location near Jeddah, adding a fresh and exciting element to the event. The choice of Saudi Arabia as the starting point underscores the country’s commitment to hosting sustainable and innovative events that align with global efforts to combat climate change.

Extreme E founder and CEO, Alejandro Agag, expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming season, stating, “We are delighted to unveil the schedule for the fourth season of Extreme E, aiming to build on the success achieved in the past three years and promising our audience a strong season this year.”

The series is not only about thrilling racing but also about showcasing the capabilities of electric vehicles in challenging off-road terrains. The chosen locations for the races are carefully selected to highlight the beauty of remote areas and emphasize the urgent need for environmental conservation.

Following the opening rounds in Saudi Arabia, the series will venture into Europe for the third and fourth rounds on July 13th and 14th, with the hosting locations yet to be announced. Sardinia, Italy, will once again play a pivotal role in the 2024 season, hosting four rounds on September 14th, 15th, 21st, and 22nd. The Italian island has been a consistent fixture in the Extreme E calendar since the series’ inception in 2021.

The fourth season will make history by concluding in Phoenix, Arizona, USA, with the ninth and tenth rounds on November 23rd and 24th. This marks the first time the championship will take place in the United States, expanding the global footprint of Extreme E and further emphasizing the series’ commitment to showcasing electric vehicle technology on a worldwide stage.

Agag also expressed his excitement about returning to Saudi Arabia, saying, “The Kingdom has always been a magnificent backdrop for us throughout the years, and we expect the same great experience when we return in February to a fantastic new location near Jeddah.”

As the world continues to grapple with the effects of climate change, the Extreme E series stands as a beacon, using the power of motorsports to raise awareness and advocate for a sustainable future. The 2024 season promises to captivate audiences around the world with thrilling races, breathtaking landscapes, and a powerful message about the role of electric vehicles in shaping a more environmentally conscious tomorrow.
