In a spectacular showcase that transported attendees to a world of desert opulence, Christian Siriano kicked off New York Fashion Week with a mesmerizing display of glamour and sophistication. Despite the absence of sandworms, the influence of “Dune” was unmistakable as Siriano infused his runway with the essence of the desert landscape.
Drawing inspiration from the apocalyptic yet enchanting world depicted in the movie, Siriano envisioned a culture where glamour and elegance thrived amidst the sand dunes. Exploring the concept of eveningwear in such a setting, he pondered the attire that inhabitants of this fictional planet would don for special occasions.
The result? A breathtaking collection featuring body-hugging gowns crafted from luxurious velvet and lace, shimmering metallic copper tones reminiscent of desert sunsets, and vibrant orange hues that echoed the warmth of a Sahara evening. Ochre sparkle and tulle added an ethereal touch, while Siriano’s signature oversized peplums and enlarged shoulders were reimagined for a desert-inspired aesthetic.
