Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence has opened up about her experience working alongside Robert Pattinson in their upcoming dark comedy-drama Die My Love. During a recent appearance on the Las Culturistas podcast, Lawrence revealed that despite the film’s intense and intimate scenes, there was no intimacy coordinator on set — and she was completely comfortable with that.

“Rob Isn’t Pervy — He’s Deeply in Love With Suki”

Lawrence explained that her sense of trust and comfort with Pattinson made the process feel natural and safe. “We did not have an intimacy coordinator — or maybe we did, but we didn’t really,” she said with a laugh. “I felt really safe with Rob. He isn’t pervy and is very in love with [his partner] Suki Waterhouse.”

The actress admitted she didn’t know Pattinson personally before shooting began but quickly grew to admire his calm and grounded personality. “He’s very sweet and laid-back,” Lawrence said. “We mostly talked about our kids and relationships. There was never any weird energy, like ‘Does he think I like him?’ If there was even a bit of that, I’d probably have wanted an intimacy coordinator. But he was not like that at all.”

She also reflected on the challenges female actors often face during vulnerable scenes, saying, “A lot of male actors get offended if you don’t want to sleep with them, and then the punishment starts. But Rob was not like that. He’s just a good guy.”

The Story Behind Die My Love

Directed by Lynne Ramsay, Die My Love is based on Ariana Harwicz’s 2012 novel of the same name. Ramsay co-wrote the screenplay with Enda Walsh and Alice Birch, crafting a story that blends psychological drama with dark humor.

The film stars Jennifer Lawrence as Grace, a young mother struggling with postpartum depression. Alongside her partner Jackson (played by Robert Pattinson), she spirals into psychosis, blurring the lines between love, madness, and despair. The film also features LaKeith Stanfield, Nick Nolte, and Sissy Spacek in key supporting roles.

A Strong Debut at Cannes

Die My Love premiered at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival in the main competition lineup, where it received a nomination for the Palme d’Or and earned strong critical praise for its raw performances and haunting direction. Critics have described Lawrence’s portrayal as one of her most fearless and emotionally charged performances since Silver Linings Playbook.

The movie is set for a U.S. theatrical release on November 7, 2025, and is already generating Oscar buzz for both Lawrence and Ramsay.

Why Jennifer Lawrence’s Comments Matter

Lawrence’s candid remarks come at a time when Hollywood’s approach to intimacy on set is evolving. In recent years, intimacy coordinators have become standard practice, ensuring actors feel comfortable during sensitive scenes. However, Lawrence’s experience with Pattinson shows that genuine trust and professionalism can sometimes make all the difference.

By openly discussing how she felt safe and respected, Lawrence adds nuance to the conversation about on-set boundaries — emphasizing that consent, communication, and mutual respect remain the foundation of healthy creative collaboration.

Robert Pattinson’s Quiet Strength on Set

Pattinson, who has earned acclaim for his diverse roles in The Batman, Good Time, and The Lighthouse, is known for his introspective and empathetic approach to acting. Lawrence’s praise of his demeanor only adds to his growing reputation as one of Hollywood’s most grounded stars.

Their on-screen chemistry in Die My Love is expected to be one of the film’s emotional anchors, balancing tenderness and tension as their characters navigate mental illness and emotional collapse.

Looking Ahead

As Die My Love nears its release, anticipation continues to build for what could be one of the year’s most powerful and unsettling films. With Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson at the center — under Lynne Ramsay’s direction — the project promises a deeply human exploration of love, madness, and vulnerability.

Lawrence’s honesty about her working relationship with Pattinson not only gives fans a behind-the-scenes look at their collaboration but also underscores how respect and trust can define great performances — even in the most challenging roles.
