While they’re vicious rivals on the big screen in the upcoming Netflix thriller The Gray Man, Chris Evans and Ryan Gosling teamed up for a good cause. The 41-year-old actors teamed up for an Omaze campaign to raise money for one of Evans’ favorite charities, Christopher’s Haven in his hometown of Boston.

The funds raised from the campaign go to Christopher’s Haven, which provides housing for pediatric cancer patients and their families. The donations from that campaign will ensure that 9,214 patients and their families will be taken care of while receiving treatments.

The winner  Lula H. from Columbus, Ohio – was announced on Wednesday, and it was also revealed that they raised over $276K for the worthy cause.  Lula and her daughter Mariah will be the personal guests of both Evans and Gosling at The Gray Man premiere.

Evans has long been a supporter of Christopher’s Haven, including a viral bet he made in 2015 with his Avengers co-star Chris Pratt. The actor also took part in a virtual fundraiser for Christopher’s Haven in 2020, and won $80,000 for the Haven in 2021 in a fantasy football tournament with his Avengers co-stars.

Evans’ New England Patriots and Pratt’s Seattle Seahawks were playing each other in the Super Bowl that year, with the two making a bet involving their teams, resulting in them both visiting Christopher’s Haven in Boston and Seattle Children’s Hospital in their superhero costumes.

Their new film The Gray Man follows Court Gentry (Gosling), a former CIA mercenary forced to go on the run after uncovering deadly secrets about the agency. He’s hunted down by Lloyd Hansen (Evans), a psychopathic former colleague who leads the manhunt to bring Court in.

The action-packed thriller also stars Ana de Armas, Billy Bob Thornton, Jessica Henwick, Alfre Woodard and Rege-Jean Page.Evans reunites with directors Anthony and Joe Russo in The Gray Man, who work from screenplay by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely.

The Russo Brothers and Markus and McFeely respectively directed and wrote 2014’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier, 2016’s Captain America: Civil War, 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War and 2019’s Avengers: Endgame.
