In a heartwarming display of community spirit and festive generosity, a group of expatriates known as Jingles in Dubai embarked on a unique fundraising initiative, raising Dh776,560 in just 16 days to support the treatment of children diagnosed with leukemia. The funds were presented to the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) this morning, marking another successful chapter in the group’s longstanding commitment to aiding young cancer patients in Dubai.
Jingles, a group of expats who spread holiday cheer by singing carols from door to door ahead of Christmas, has become a beacon of hope for children battling leukemia. Jessica David, co-founder of Jingles, expressed her gratitude, saying, “We would firstly like to thank God and all those who contributed to another successful season of fundraising for children with leukemia in Dubai.” David also acknowledged the support of the Emirates Red Crescent and the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department for their vital role in facilitating the charitable effort.
The festive endeavor, which has been a tradition since 2011, received significant backing from the community and garnered widespread attention, thanks to the continued support of Gulf News. Jessica David conveyed her appreciation to the publication, stating, “We would also like to thank Gulf News for their support as always.”
The Dh776,560 raised by Jingles will play a crucial role in covering the treatment costs for six children diagnosed with leukemia. These funds aim to provide hope and healing for these young patients, offering them a chance at a cancer-free life. The donation was officially handed over to the ERC, an organization that has been a consistent partner with Jingles over the years.
Mohammed Kamal, Executive Fundraising at ERC, expressed gratitude, saying, “It is not the first time that Jingles has done this. We thank them for their support over the years. The amount raised will make a huge difference to the young beneficiaries.”
Rajiv David, co-founder of Jingles, emphasized that the funds generated in this campaign would specifically aid the treatment costs of six children. The goal is for these children to overcome leukemia and lead healthy, cancer-free lives, mirroring the success stories of those assisted during previous campaigns.
Jingles Dubai’s commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of children with cancer continues to shine through, showcasing the power of community collaboration and the profound difference that can be made when individuals come together for a common cause.
