Netflix’s adaptation of Alice Feeney’s novel “His & Hers” has expanded its cast with the addition of Crystal Fox, Sunita Mani, Rebecca Rittenhouse, and Marin Ireland. The series, which is set to begin production this fall, also features previously announced stars Tessa Thompson, Jon Bernthal, and Pablo Schreiber.
Fox will portray Alice, the mother of Anna (played by Thompson), who lives in the town of Dahlonega, Georgia, where she’s been estranged from her daughter. Mani will take on the role of Priya, a new detective in the Dahlonega Sheriff’s Office. Rittenhouse will play Lexy, the ambitious news anchor who steps into Anna’s old role, while Ireland will appear as Zoe, a sharp-tongued local who provides temporary housing for Detective Jack Harper (Bernthal).
The series is set in the sweltering heat of Atlanta, following news anchor Anna who is drawn back into her past after overhearing about a murder in her hometown. This leads her to clash with Detective Harper, who becomes suspicious of her involvement.
Fox, known for her roles in “The Big Door Prize” and “The Haves and the Have Nots,” Mani from “GLOW” and “Everything Everywhere All at Once,” Rittenhouse from “Maggie” and “Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood,” and Ireland from “The Umbrella Academy” and “Hell or High Water” bring a wealth of experience to the series.
The show is being produced by William Oldroyd, Dee Johnson, and Bill Dubuque, with Oldroyd directing three episodes, including the first. Sarah Thompson will also executive produce under her Viva Maude banner, alongside Kristen Campo, Jessica Chastain, Kelly Carmichael, and Kishori Rajan.
