Andrey Sinyuk, a prosecutor in Ukraine’s prosecutor general’s office, said Sergei Torbin, a former fighter, was among the released prisoners. Torbin had previously fought in conflict with the DPR and LPR. He was sentenced to 6 years and 6 months in 2018 for his role in the murder of civil rights activist and anti-corruption campaigner Katerina Handziuk.
