According to local NK News, a farm manager from Samsu County in northern Ryanggang Province has been arrested and sentenced to six months in prison for not taking adequate care of the plants. This person has been identified as Han, whose age is around 50 years. Han could not find firewood to adequately heat the greenhouses during the winter months, and the plants died as a result. Along with him, many other people have also been sent to labor camps.
Even a small mistake gets a big punishment
Another employee of the farm has been identified as 40-year-old Choi. He has also been sentenced to three months in labor camps.
