The US Air Force, Commandos and Reaper Drones conducted a major military operation in Syria on Thursday. Islamic State commander Ibrahim al-Hashmi al-Qureshi was killed in this. A similar operation was carried out in 2019 to kill IS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. Prior to this, Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden was also killed by the US in a similar manner in 2011 in Abbottabad, Pakistan.
