The new Premier League season is less than a month away and, with pre-season now in full swing, clubs across the globe are frantically working to put the finishing touches to their squads for 2023-24.
It will be hard to look back on this transfer window as anything other than the Saudi summer, with stars such as Karim Benzema, Ruben Neves and N’Golo Kante choosing to follow Cristiano Ronaldo’s example by moving to the Middle East.
Arsenal have also agreed a £105m deal to land West Ham star Declan Rice, although the move has not yet been finalised, and Tottenham captain Harry Kane is continuing to attract bids from Bayern Munich.
But there’s still been plenty of activity across Europe with Man City signing Mateo Kovacic to replace Barcelona-bound Ilkay Gundogan, Jude Bellingham earning a £113m move to Real Madrid, Kai Havertz sealing a £65m switch from Chelsea to Arsenal and Mason Mount swapping the Blues for Man United.
But what else is happening in the transfer market? Below, Mail Sport takes a look at all the latest news and gossip on Thursday. Bristol City have rejected Bournemouth’s £15m bid for talented young midfielder Alex Scott. The Championship side hope to spark a bidding war with West Ham, Wolves and Inter Milan all interested.
Leeds forward Rodrigo is set to join Al Rayyan in Qatar, with the relegated side set to lose £20m on the Spaniard after his £3m release clause was triggered. Paris Saint-Germain are set to rival Manchester United for the signature of Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund, 20.
Barcelona are set to renew long-term interest in Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva but have shortlisted Tottenham’s Giovani Lo Celso as a back-up in case they can’t lure the Portuguese midfielder away from the Etihad.
